In his piece “Design Thinking Comes to Independent Schools” in a recent Education Week, independent school educator Peter Gow connects the critique culture of Project Runway and the studio class (as in this moonbuggy review in a RISD class in 2010, above.) He introduces the “first standalone design-studio-based pre-college program”, NuVu, and how it fits into a larger trend in independent schools who are increasingly energized by design thinking, with a final nod to the growing maker movement.
